 Ghostbusters 3: Female Cast

Sony Pictures Entertainment, the same people who brought you the full length feature of the TV show “Bewitched” are now considering a reboot of the Ghostbusters brand. Apparently, Sony has had a Ghostbusters 3 in the works for some time however, this version will be a Ghostbusters 3: female cast. Sometimes movie gossip is fun to consider, especially in light of the fact that it is all make-believe in the first place. So I will mention that there is talk of Melissa McCarthy and Emma Stone just to add fuel to the fire. This from CNN:

Director Paul Feig might find himself leading a “Ghostbusters” reboot with an all-female cast, according to reports from Variety and The Hollywood Reporter. Feig, who helmed high-performing, female-led comedies “Bridesmaids” and “The Heat,” is said to have caught the eye of studio Sony to direct a new “Ghostbusters” film.

Still, the project hasn’t been without its stumbling blocks. Bill Murray has declined to participate, the script has changed hands, and the passing of “Ghostbusters” star and co-writer Harold Ramis in February 2014 was another blow.

Following Ramis’ death, director Ivan Reitman, who helmed both 1984’s “Ghostbusters” and 1989’s “Ghostbusters II,” decided not to direct the third “Ghostbusters” feature but has remained with the movie as a producer.

FYI, check out what Jeff Sneider for TheWrap thinks about it. I don’t know, is it worth the try?
